ROCHDALE FOOD BANK

We are still supporting this worthwhile cause. The donation box is in front of the fish tank in the main entrance if you would like to donate any food items. At the moment they are in need of long life milk, female sanitary products/toiletries.

PE KIT

We are having lots of issues with children forgetting or not having appropriate PE kit in school, especially pumps.  Pumps in our school are very important as our hall is used for so many activities and it could become a hazard for children without pumps.

PE kit – must be in school every day.

  • T shirt
  • Shorts
  • Pumps

The perfect PE kit:

Football kits are not allowed in school.

Games kit – can be left in school all term or can be brought on the day of games but must be in school every week.

We appreciate that they may be needed for other clubs.

  • Tracksuit or a change of trousers and sweatshirt/jumper
  • Trainers

It is also really useful if kit bags have a spare pair of socks in them just in case socks get wet during games or girls are wearing tights. All kit must have the child’s name in.  Tape or plasters must be in kit bags if your child has earrings. Alternatively, they must be removed. Long hair must be tied up

DROP IN FLU-VACCINE CLINIC

As you may be aware, Intra Health have recently visited school to administer flu vaccines to some of our children.  Due to a high demand, they will now be holding several ‘drop in’ clinics for parents to take their other children along for the vaccine.  This is likely to be the last opportunity for the flu vaccination this season.  If you would like any of your other children to receive the vaccine, please contact IntraHealth direct on 0333 357 3396 to book a slot.  This will ensure that there are enough vaccines available.

ROBINS, WRENS & SPARROWS VISIT TO CHURCH

On the morning of Monday 20th January, the Robins, Wrens and Sparrows classes will be visiting Milnrow Parish Church.  Children should be in full school uniform as usual but should have a waterproof coat and sensible shoes on.

PAYING FOR DINNERS

As you should know we have an online system for paying for dinners. This was something many parents had asked for and it has been really successful, except for parents who aren’t paying. Nothing has changed in this regard; dinners MUST be paid for in advance. It is easier than ever. If you cannot use the online system, then please bring cash, a cheque or your card to the office and Mrs. McGuigan will put the payment online for you. If you have debt with us now, please clear it immediately. From Monday, 20th January, if dinners are not paid for on the day or in advance we will not be providing your child with a school meal, no exceptions.  Thank you.

SAVE THE CHILDREN

What a fantastic response – we raised an amazing £420!  Thank you for your support.

FAMILY LUNCHES

Family lunches are due to start again next week. They are very popular in school and something we really value. To help them run smoothly please can you help by doing three things? Once you have finished your lunch please leave promptly so that the rest of the children can be served. We have more children than ever having school dinners. Could you please use the main entrance door and not walk around school. Also, remember, mobile phones are not allowed to be used in school. Thank you for your co-operation.

LATENESS

It is really important that all children arrive on time and should not be late for school. The vast majority of children arrive at school in plenty of time to start the day. The doors open at 8:45am so that children are settled and ready for their day. School starts at 8:55am. Children who do arrive late to school must use the main entrance so that they can be registered in school. They will be taken to class by the office staff so that lessons that have started are not disturbed.

SICKNESS IN SCHOOL

If your child is sick during the night or in school, they must be off school for 48 hours. This is to prevent illnesses being passed around school. Thank you for your co-operation.

HEAD LICE

Unfortunately, as we return to school it usually means a return of head lice! Please check your children’s hair weekly and inform us if they have any. This way we can try to keep on top of them by telling other parents.

PE KITS

All children must have a labelled PE kit in school – shorts, t-shirt and black pumps. Earrings must be removed or covered for PE. Thank you.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Please ensure that your child has their name clearly written on all of their belongings. That way it is far easier to return them to the right person if they are misplaced.

SCHOOL CLUBS

All ‘school run’ extra-curricular before and after school sports clubs are postponed until the weather improves and the nights are lighter.  French, Karate and Ed-Start will still continue.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS FOR RECEPTION SEPTEMBER 2020 PLACES
