On Tuesday, Mrs Binns and Mrs Boden both retire. We would like to thank them for all their hard work and commitment to school. We wish them a long and happy retirement.



On Monday children in Year 6 will be having their ‘Leavers Party’ and can come to school in their own clothes.  Tuesday is a normal uniform day and year sixes can sign their shirts.

Good luck to all the year sixes who are moving onto high school. Work hard and you will all succeed. It has been a pleasure watching you all grow and develop over the last 7 years. You should be very proud of yourselves, you really have worked extremely hard.

The rest of the school should be in full school uniform on Monday and Tuesday.




Please note that from September, dinner money will be £2.40 per day: £12.00 per week.  Children in Reception, Years 1 and 2 all qualify for Universal Free School Meals.  If your child has moved from Year 2 to Year 3, you will receive login in details for our school meals payment system in September.   

Just to clarify, the amount you can pay online will always default to the weekly charge. However, if you would like to pay less or more, you should just delete this amount and enter the amount you would like to pay – divisible by £2.40

Can we please remind parents that all payments should be made in advance for the day, week or term?  As a school we cannot afford to amass any debt.  If for any reason you experience difficulty using the online system, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

If you were thinking of having your child’s ears pierced, it would be advisable to do so at the start of the summer holiday. It will give them time to heal properly before we come back to school in September. In September, the earrings must be removed or covered for PE.



We are still having lots of issues and apparently they are ex- pupils. If you know these children, please tell them to find somewhere else to play. The police will be patrolling again this weekend.



If you or your child is classed as a contact, you must now book a PCR.

If you are booking a PCR as a contact with no symptoms, the whole family does not need to isolate, unless it comes back positive.

If you or your children go for a PCR with symptoms, the whole family must isolate, until the result.


If your child has any of the 3 main symptoms, cough, temperature or loss of taste or smell, again, do not send them to school and book a PCR test – not a Lateral Flow Test. Thankyou.


Nothing has changed in school around the restrictions and rules we have in place. They are very unlikely to do over the next few months. There has been an increase in adults and siblings collecting children without masks and in groups. Only one person is permitted to collect a child or family of children and masks must be worn by all adults, unless exempt. Once children have left the school building, all families must leave the site immediately. Many thanks.


ROCHDALE FOOD BANK – We are still supporting this worthwhile cause. If you would like to donate any food items, donations can be dropped off at Tesco, Sudden or No.1 Riverside (Council Offices), 8 South Parade, Rochdale.  At the moment they are in urgent need of:






AUNTIE IRENE'S SUNDAY PANTRY, formerly Milnrow and Newhey Sunday Pantry, has moved premises and is now based at St James' (Milnrow Parish) Church. They are open for donations and to support to the local community every Wednesday 6pm-7pm and Sunday 12 noon to 2pm. They also offer a delivery service if you are unable to get to the church. Just to remind you that school closes on Tuesday, 20th July for the summer and re-opens on Monday, 6th September.

Our new Reception children will only be joining us for 2 days the first week, either the 7th  & 8th or 9th & 10th September. We look forward to seeing you all then.  Please remember there will be no after school club on the 20th.
