Data Protection and UK GDPR

At Crossgates Primary, we take data protection seriously. We collect and use personal information about pupils and families to support learning, wellbeing, and day-to-day school operations. This includes information such as contact details, attendance records, and safeguarding information, as well as information needed to provide educational services and meet legal responsibilities.

We follow UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We only collect what we need, use it for clear purposes, and keep it safe. We also ensure that personal information is handled fairly and securely, with appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

We may share information with trusted partners where necessary, such as local authorities, government departments, and other organisations supporting children’s education and welfare. Where we do share data, we do so in line with legal requirements and appropriate safeguards.
