COVID

As you know there are no longer any free tests. You may still have some at home, if you have, use them when needed.

The advice is now:

Adults, with symptoms and a temperature – isolate for 5 days and return to work from day 6.

Children, with symptoms and a temperature – isolate for 3 days and return to school on day 4. They must not return with a temperature.

Anybody with a positive test should isolate for 5 days.

The key point is the temperature and staying away from school and work until it has gone.

CROSSING, STOPPING/PARKING OUTSIDE SCHOOL

The purpose of providing School Keep Clear markings is to keep the space outside of schools free from parked vehicles so that children can be seen more easily when crossing the road. These are shown as yellow zigzag markings directly outside a school. No vehicles should park on the zigzag or even stop to set down passengers whilst the restrictions are in force.

These markings are enforceable, meaning motorists observed parking or dropping off passengers can be issued with a fine by either an enforcement officer who is patrolling the area or by the camera enforcement vehicle.

Keep entrance clear of stationary vehicles, even if picking up or setting down children

Can you please not stop on the keep clear markings outside school and keep all school children safe when crossing the road.  Thank you.

  • School jumper or fleece.

Children still come to school dressed in their kit on the day of their PE lesson. This has worked much easier in the last two years.  Football shirts and other hoodies are not allowed. Thank you.

QUEENS PLATINUM JUBILEE

We are busy making plans for this great celebration. As you know, we have already planted a tree at the front of school for the Queen’s Green Canopy.  CROSSING, STOPPING/PARKING OUTSIDE SCHOOL

As you know, we have a Crossing patrol outside school. We ask that you use this service to cross the road; it is extremely dangerous to cross the road between parked cars. There have been several instances with children leaving school from the carpark exit and running straight across the road.

Also, can we remind parents that they must not stop or park on the zig-zag lines outside school, block or reverse in the entrance to the car park or block local residents’ driveways. Our residents do get very frustrated if they can’t leave their driveway.  The same rules apply to taxis dropping families off, tell the driver where to park please.

Over the holiday, people wear issued with parking tickets even when school was closed.

SATS WEEK – YEAR SIX

Please note next week our year 6 children will be involved in SAT’s tests.  It is very important that all children are in school during the week as tests can only be taken on certain days. The children do the tests in the school hall and we ensure that the children are as calm and happy as possible.

Monday, 9th May                       –          Spelling Punctuation and Grammar tests

Tuesday, 10th May                    –          Reading test

Wednesday, 11th May                –          Maths papers 1 and 2

Thursday, 12th May                   –          Maths paper 3

It is important that the children have a good breakfast, plenty of sleep and arrive in school happy. Don’t forget the children can bring a lucky mascot if they wish.

Year 2 SATs are also carried out in May. These will be completed on various days throughout May.
